FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

When your skates fit properly, you have better balance, more control, and more power.

Important: When you are trying on the skates for the first time make sure that your heel is positioned deep in the heel pocket of the skate. While sitting down, put the skate on and kick the heel back into the skate.

Correct Size:Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Then bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Cramped toes are bad, but so are loose sloppy ones. Sizing is a preference, but it is known that a snug fit allows better response from your skates.

Wrap:You want an even yet snug fit. To achieve this fit, adjust your laces and/or power straps to alleviate pressure and spread support evenly over your entire foot. Flexibility VS Support: Both are important, but in different places. Forward flex is critical to maintaining the right skating stance with knees bent, shoulders and head centered over the skates. Lateral stability, on the other hand, is crucial for a powerful, comfortable stroke.

Bont Skates

Bont boots typically fit about 1/2 size larger after heat molding. It is therefore recommended you order your boots to fit snuggly. Measure your foot in Centimeters and use the chart below to obtain the correct size. If having feet with two different measurements (but close), order using the smaller of the two measurements due to the expansion when heating. If having a wide foot, stock boots can accommodate widths up to an E with the heating. Unfortunately as sizing is a preference, fit cannot be guaranteed.

Luigino / Powersiide Skates

For correct sizing, it is recommended by the folks at Powerslide / Luigino to follow these 6 steps:

  1. Remove shoe from the right foot (or longest foot)
  2. Measure with sock if you want space, no sock for tighter fit
  3. Place a blank sheet of paper against the wall
  4. Place your heel against the wall over the sheet of paper
  5. Mark straight down from your longest toe
  6. Measure from edge of paper against the wall to the line marked on the paper (use centimeters/inches)
  7. Go to sizing chart below to match your measurement with an accurate size

Unfortunately as sizing is a preference, fit cannot be guaranteed.

Cado Motous Skates

Cado Motus sizes their boots by millimeters. This means you can simply trace and measure your foot, then know with some certainty which boot you need. Cado Motus boots are measured from the inside (think of it as a footbed measurement), from the tip of the longest toe to the rear of the heel. Measure in millimeters and then deduct your size from the chart below.
